Jackie Moad Becomes Fifth Nomination Candidate
The Nanaimo Ladysmith NDP EDA announced today that Jackie Moad has been approved as a nomination candidate. (Sept. 16/14)
Hello friends,
I’m pleased to introduce myself to Nanaimo-Ladysmith NDP members, and will get right to the point.
I think you should send a nurse to Parliament – a professional who lives her beliefs, puts plans into action, and shows respect and care for others.
As a Registered Nurse for twenty+ years I’ve seen it all. At least enough to say this country needs to get serious in meeting health care and senior’s needs – and neither Harper or Trudeau can be trusted to meet the challenge.
I am honest and straight-up. And if elected I’ll work to represent you with the honour and determination that brings to mind the great New Democrats – Tommy Douglas, Rosemary Brown, Audrey McLaughlin and Jack Layton to name just a few.
As an ‘army brat’ I was raised to know what it means to fight for my country. As a farmer in Cedar I’m well aware of difficulties facing our local food security. And 38 years married is proof enough that I live up to my vows and promises.
I’ve worked hard for my Bachelor of Science, and Nursing degree. And I’m proud to have helped start and run Nanaimo’s Haven House for abused women, as well as the BC/Yukon Society of Transition Houses.
I know I can make a difference, and that’s why I’m asking you to send a nurse to Parliament.
Call or email me if you have questions ...or, would just like to talk about the future of our Riding and our country.
